UPVC Replacement Door Handles
The handles on your doors get worn out over time and will need to be replaced. When replacing them, it is essential that the new handles match the exact dimensions of the old handle.

The three measurements to check are the top screw's location as well as the key hole and lever sizes. Refer to the size guide for assistance with this.
Inline Lever/Lever
A lever/lever handle is a contemporary door handle designed to suit new or replacement doors. This kind of handle is available in many styles and finishes. This handle is available from several manufacturers including Avocet ERA Fullex Hoppe Mila Millenco Yale.
Fab and Fix Windsor Inline Sprung Lever Door Handle
The handles made of uPVC/Composite are made from robust materials, and are perfect for multi-point lock doors that require a robust design. The handles are inline, and they use the same spindle and screws to secure them. They are easily fitted on a new or existing uPVC/Composite doors.
The sprung lever design allows the handle to be positioned and angled to ensure a comfortable experience and is suitable for all users. The handle has been tested to 200 000 cycles. This helps ensure that the finish is of high quality and performance will last for a long time. The lever that is sprung can be reduced to accommodate the widest range of locks. This is especially useful in doors with smaller door frames where the cylinder is further back. A lever that is shorter is an excellent option for doors that have latches that can be activated by the thumb turn located on the inside.
Lever Pad
A Lever Pad door handle made of upvc operates differently than lever handles on doors. The handle can operate from a single spindle (inline) or independently from each side using two offset or inline spindles (pad). They are usually employed on UPVC doors with double glazing and come in a variety of finishes & variations.
The handles are available in a variety of finishes including White, Chrome, and Gold. The finish meets BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 5 and is also resistant to corrosion, thereby giving the handle a high degree of durability and performance for its intended use.
All of the UPVC handle lever pad styles are supplied with a spindle and screws that allow them to be installed on any new or existing uPVC door. The backplate fixing centres of 211mm allow for a larger handle, which is often a benefit when replacing a faulty or worn multi point door lock mechanism. These handle levers are also spring-loaded, which solves the issue of handles that slide from their horizontal position when they are not in use.
It is crucial to match the PZ dimensions of both the multipoint lock as well as the uPVC doors when selecting the replacement UPVC spindle and handle. This measurement is often referred to as the "handle centre" or "cylinder centres and is an essential aspect of matching up the right handles.
Once you have the correct PZ size you will then need to ensure that the handle lever pads and push pads are of a appropriate shape to accommodate the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) approved handles you require for your doors. These are typically square or round with an internal lever and an external push pad.
The majority of the UPVC Lever Pads that we sell are sprung. This means they return to a horizontal state when they are not in use, rather than hanging and possibly sticking in the frame. This stops draughts from entering the home. Also, the majority of UPVC handle lever pad style handles are swivel, allowing you to install them on either side of the door.
Euro Cylinder
Cylinder locks are typically found on uPVC doors, but they can also be found on other types of door. They operate with a key to unlock a cylinder case that will reveal pins that can be aligned with those in the lock body and permitting them to turn an revolving cam, opening the door. Euro Cylinders are available with up to six pins. External and internal doors require different levels of security.
The selection of a cylinder is vital. It depends on the type of use your doors and handles receive. Doors that are external, for instance, should be fitted with cylinders with greater security, whereas internal doors can be secured with an ordinary cylinder. In addition, some cylinders are available with extra features which can enhance security, for instance anti-drill or anti-bump features.
A euro cylinder must be measured accurately to ensure that it is the right size for your door. The cylinder must be measured from the screw hole at the center to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn, if there is one. It is recommended to do this with the lock in place however when this isn't possible, you can remove it to take measurements. It is crucial to ensure that there is no extension of the cylinder beyond the handle or escutcheon. This can make it vulnerable to snapping lock attacks.
The design of many modern cylinders has anti-drilling and bump resistance features. These features are designed to minimize the chance of a attack by forcing the cylinder to rotate in the opposite direction. This will help to stop the attack and protect your doors.
Certain cylinders are made to withstand snapping. This is an increasingly common kind of attack on cylinders, where the break line inside the lock is attacked using a special tool to break the front of the cylinder to allow the door to be opened. This is a lot faster and less difficult than opening multipoint locks and leaves no evidence of a break-in which could hinder the insurance claim.
Spring Cassette
This spring cassette is located in the base plate of the door handle. It offers a spring-loaded solution to help return your multipoint lock handles back to their normal position after use. These handles used to have no spring and would droop when the locking mechanism was disengaged. This component is the most effective way to fix this problem. It also helps prevent your door from becoming stuck in the open or closed position, as they aren't easy to close manually.
The spring cassettes were made to be used with a sprung multipoint lock. They are not compatible with unsprung handles, and you will have to cut a hole in your backplate for them to fit. (Please see the image for a technical diagram). They are a replacement for broken or missing cassettes in the backplate of the door handle for many brands of uPVC doors. door handle repairs have a square cut out which can accommodate an 8mm spindle, and they are supplied individually.
These spring cassettes are an excellent value for money solution to the issue of door handles that are sliding. These spring cassettes are easy to install and will increase the lifespan of your uPVC door. Please contact our team to learn more about our range of uPVC accessories and spares.
